Ben Ditzler
Waste and Water Specialist
Hailing from the fields of recycling & waste management and stormwater engineering, Ben Ditzler now finds himself in the middle of what we know as sustainability.
As a waste and recycling consultant, Ben works with institutional and business clients to examine their waste systems and design methods to reduce waste, increase diversion, improve purchasing, streamline operations, and save money on disposal costs. Ben holds two US utility patents for a recycling bin messaging technique that has been shown to cut contamination in half.
Ben helped create the City of Philadelphia’s first commercial recycling toolkit in 2014 and has also worked with the University of Pennsylvania, the City of New York, Swarthmore College, Montclair State University, the Philadelphia Navy Yard, and Kraft Foods.
In his three years at a private land development engineering firm, Ben saw the transformation of stormwater management into designed systems that mimic natural water and earth cycles. Ben has helped clients improve on-site water use efficiency by water reduction and recycling, as well as mitigate stormwater through techniques that slow down, detain, and infiltrate rainfall.
Ben holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
